Ozone is a naturally
occurring pollutant remover which works similar to the way carbon filters work.
You may have used carbon filters to purify water in your sinks, pools, or fish
tanks. Similarly, Ozone gas is currently used to purify drinking water. You can
see this for yourself as it is noted on the labels of most bottled water
available at most stores. Ozone generators are also available to purify water in
your pools and hot tubs. In addition, ozone gas been approved as a disinfectant
primarily for restaurant kitchen sanitation because it's more effective than
other methods of sterilization.
Ozone is also used to
treat humans who suffer from a variety of illnesses. It has been said that Ozone
gas has cured many virus's thought to be incurable. Ozone gas has been used to
treat infections as well as to kill cancer. There are many doctors around the
United States who currently use Ozone gas to treat patients in their clinics.
The primary reason we haven't heard more about the powers of ozone gas is that
many people in the medical field see Ozone Therapy as a threat to their income.
The pharmaceutical companies are at even greater risk due to the low cost of
Ozone Therapy and its long term effectiveness.
Points of interest:
Ozone is a
gas made up of only Oxygen.
Ozone is
made naturally from ultraviolet (UV) light passing over oxygen molecules.
Ozone is
naturally produced in the "Ozone Layer" where the UV rays from the sun pass
through our upper atmosphere changing regular oxygen gas to ozone gas. The Ozone
Layer protects us from these same UV rays.
Technical Details:
Oxygen
is normally found as O2 and this is mostly the oxygen which we
breath. This means oxygen atoms are found together in sets of 2. The difference
with Ozone is that its structure is O3 and therefore the Oxygen is
found in sets of 3 atoms. The extra Oxygen atom is very reactive which means the
O3 is looking for something with which to react. Once it does the O2
will be left as stable once again.

This means the extra super
reactive oxygen in ozone will bond with pollutants in the same way an activated
carbon filter does. The benefit of using ozone vs. using carbon filtering is
that with carbon filtering you must pass whatever is being filtered through the
carbon filter; where as the ozone gas will go out and find pollutants in both
the air and room and neutralize them. Ozone can even be dissolved in liquids
such as water or even blood, giving Ozone an even wider range of potential uses.
